Senior editor, Brian Couch, receives NABT award!
Congratulations to one of CourseSource's senior editors, Brian Couch at the University of Nebraska Lincoln! Brian is the recipient of this year's National Association of Biology Teacher's Research in Biology Education Award! Brian's work includes the development of a suite of assessments in life sciences — Biology-Measuring Achievement and Progression in Sciences, or Bio-MAPS — to gauge learning at the beginning, middle and end of a major. Brian and colleagues were aiming to measure instruction, learning and student perceptions across entire academic programs: general biology, molecular biology, physiology, ecology-evolution. And they wanted to offer the assessments free of charge. More than 60 U.S. institutions have adopted Bio-MAPS to assess over 14,000 undergrads!
