Apply for the CourseSource Writing Studio!

Editorial board members for the journal CourseSource are hosting a Writing Studio workshop starting with dinner on Wednesday, July 25th and going through lunch on Friday, July 27th in Minneapolis, MN, just ahead of the Society for the Advancement of Biology Education Research (SABER) meeting.

This opportunity is open to instructors who teach biology to undergraduate students (including faculty, graduate students, and postdocs) and are interested in publishing their work in CourseSource. CourseSource publishes tested, evidence-based biology activities that make difficult concepts obtainable to students.

If you are selected for the Writing Studio, we will provide travel support including airfare, 2 nights lodging, and food during the workshop (dinner July 25th --> lunch on July 27th). If you wish, you can stay for the SABER meeting and use other resources to cover your meeting registration and lodging, food etc. starting the evening of July 27th.

CourseSource, a peer-reviewed and open-access journal, publishes articles that include details and nuances of various biology activities, in a format, style, and voice that supports replicability.

Publishing activities in CourseSource provides you with recognition of the creativity, experience, and time needed to develop effective classroom materials, while also supporting the dissemination of evidence-based teaching practices.  Working on a CourseSource manuscript also offers you a way to learn about teaching while, at the same time, getting credit for those efforts on your curriculum vitae.

The Writing Studio will provide time for you to work on your CourseSource manuscript, receive advice and feedback from editorial staff, and connect you with other prospective authors.
